Image07During an ultrasound scan of the heart (Color Doppler echocardiography), the heart and the major arteries are examined. Color Doppler echocardiography enables a comprehensive assessment of the size and capacity of all four heart chambers and the heart valves to be made. The opening of the main artery (the aorta) is measured as far as it is visible. Color Doppler echocardiography is the most significant examination in ambulant cardiology and is therefore commonly used in the practice.
