A combination of aerobic endurance training and dynamic strength training has a substantial effect on HBA1c levels. A 150-minute workout each week can sink the HBA1c level by up to 0.9%. That means physical training is at least as effective as diabetes medication. Lowering the HBA1c level has been proved to lead to a reduction of cardiovascular diseases. An adequate diabetes diet must however be maintained in addition to the training, in order to permanently reduce the HBA1c level.
